Approach
Design for Decisions
Banking, mobility, public health. I like to understand a field well enough to have an opinion about it. At the moment I am learning how people make decisions about their money. Earlier, I learned a lot from working next to researchers and engineers, asking questions until I understood how their technology works. Curiosity stays on.
I think best when I build something: prototypes, small tools, objects, today often with AI and code. A quick prototype says more than a long meeting. It helps a team decide with real data and real people. My own app, Brain Dump, started the same way.
Banks and public institutions come with firm rules, often for good reasons. Together with the people inside, I like to find out where there is room to move. Slow systems need patience. They are often the ones where good design makes the biggest difference.
I want a team to be better equipped after a project than before. That can be a design system, a shared way of working, or simply trust. Teaching since 2007, talks and workshops are my way of passing the method on.
